About County Wicklow

Co. Wicklow is known in Ireland as the Garden of Ireland because of its rich colour and magnificent scenery. The gentle sloping granite mountains in the west, the more rugged quartzite and slate landscape in the east and the low-lying fertile plains in between give a variation of scenery which is very accessible and attractive.

See our Things to Do section for further information on attractions and things to do in the county. The video below gives a flavour of how the landscape and community combine to make Wicklow what it is today.
